The School Day

Children should be escorted to school by a responsible adult.

The gates onto Rowton Street are opened at 8:40 and the main doors are opened at 8.45 a.m. Pupils are greeted by members of staff before proceeding to their classes from this time up to 8.55 a.m. Please leave the children at the door, and if you have a message for the class teacher, we will ensure that it is passed on using our parents’ message book. If you need to see the class teacher, appointments can be made for after school.

N.B. If your child arrives later than 8.55am, the gates will be closed. Pupils must be escorted into school after this time. Please use the entrance from the car park. A ‘Late book’ is kept in the Reception area and parents are asked to sign in if their child arrives after the door is closed. If your child arrives after the register has closed, they will receive a 'Late' mark, which will affect their overall attendance percentage.

If children need to leave school during the day for medical or dental appointments, parents are requested to sign them out and back in again on their return. These measures are essential in case of evacuation of the building because of fire etc.

If you are unable to collect your child from school at the end of the day and you wish your child to go home with someone else you MUST let school know, a message in the morning or a phone call.
